In the beginning…

In the beginning…

31st December 2017, the Toilet Evangelist will birth at midnight!  Praise God!  A big thank you to those who have ‘Liked’ the Facebook Page; ‘Toilet Evangelist’.  Your prayers and encouragement are much appreciated.  God bless you in 2018!

So, what has brought me to this point?  In short; God.  In 2017, I experienced issues with my bladder which resulted in me needing to go to the toilet very regularly!  My bladder was totally indiscriminate, every twenty minutes I would need the toilet – it had no regard for where I was, who I was with or what I was trying to do.   As a new bride, this was not how I saw our ‘honeymoon’ season going… However, as it says in Romans 8: 28 (NIV) ”And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose”.

God truly has used this for my good – increasing me in humility and self-awareness as well as thankfulness and courage.  God then called me to fulfil his purposes – to take the light of Jesus in to these often dark, cold and forgotten places.  According to Google, the average person spends around fifteen years on the toilet during their lifetime.  God put it on my heart to find a way of harnessing this time for God’s glory.  The Toilet Evangelist seeks to change the eternities of people using toilets out in society; weather in a shopping centre, a service station or in a town.  I feel led to a couple of public toilets in the first instance and trust that God will continue to guide me to where He wants me.

I feel grateful that during my many hours of dashing to toilets on my way to work, while out shopping or when trying to exercise, that I have momentarily had a glimpse in to the lives of many extraordinary people who God is especially fond of and longs to know.  Frantic mothers trying to potty train their child, older people needing somewhere to take some medication, harassed shoppers rushing to get all their Christmas shopping done against the clock, homeless men and women using the toilet as a shelter and some people using the toilet to shield their substance abuse – I’m privileged to be able to pray for them, to leave them a Gospel Tract or to simply share a smile.

I am committed to weekly visits to the places that I am led to, in order to pray, leave Tracts where possible and witness to the people I meet.  There are 52 weeks in a year, that means that this time next year, there could be 52+ eternities changed to the glory of God.  I appreciate that this is a pretty random calling – God has a sense of humour!  1 Corinthians 4:10 (NIV) ”We are fools for Christ…” – I am thrilled to have the opportunity to look a fool for the Lord!  Amen!  Please ‘Follow Me’ to see what God has in store.  Thank you so much!

Happy New Year & God Bless You! ❤ <>< ❤20170902_134307_resized
